Fees to See a Psychologist in Halifax
Like other private clinics in Halifax, at my office at Green Leaf Psychological the rate for therapy with a Psychologist in Nova Scotia is $210 per clinical hour. This is the current fee recommended for all Psychologists across the province by the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia.
Unfortunately, the Nova Scotia Health Insurance Program (your MSI card) does not cover the fees for Psychologists. Nevertheless, the fee to work with a Psychologist may be covered if you have private insurance, a policy through your employment, or from college or university benefits if you are a student (in fact, most of the universities in Halifax have excellent coverage for students to see private practice Psychologists). Popular insurance plans covering your service at Green Leaf Psychological include (but are not limited to): Sun Life Financial, Manulife, Great-West Life, Blue Cross, Desjardins, and Green Shield. The reimbursement is almost always very fast and straightforward, especially if you use your insurance provider's app. After each session, you will receive a paper and/or digital receipt for your insurance provider. The reimbursement often happens the very same day!
